The KSS Deanery Dental Team have been successful in running Conferences, covering a variety of Dental topics. 

Each November, the Dental Team hold their annual Conference, and for 2009 the topic is Skills in Communications, with the focus for the whole Dental Team - communication within the Team; with the Patient; ; regarding referrals; as well as on self-reflection. Please see below for the write-up the conference received in the Dental Practice.

The 2008 Dental Conference Mind the Gap was successfully received by 300 attendees, with combined lectures, as well as specifically-focused sessions for DCPs and Dentists.  Feedback received from the day included comments such as:  

 "Excellent organisation prior to the Conference & on the Day”

"Interest was kept all the way through”
“I was impressed and happy with the Course”
“Thank You for a great Day

The formerly-named Vocational Training Scheme, now Foundation Training, saw nearly 300 delegates attend the Job Shop in February 2009.  This is an important gathering for Dental Students wishing to become involved with this Training Programme, as it is an opportunity to receive information on the Practice they might apply to train at; meet the Trainers and become familiar with the Programme ahead of them.

2008 saw KSS Deanery host the annual Dental Tutors Conference at the Old Ship Hotel in Brighton.  A New Dawn for Dental Education - Tomorrow's Tutors Today discussed topics of Validation and Revalidation; Standards for Dental Educators; Academic Pathways; Clinical Governance; and the e-learning programme DNSTART.
